One thing I like to add on my travel saving feature is to travel during off-peak seasons. Not only you can free yourself from enormous crowd and heavy traffic jam but also you can score the best deals in hotel accommodation. Most likely, rates are down and many rooms are available – no need to book/make reservation online.
If you’re not the picky type (like me) and can stay in a budget hotel with decent features, there are lots to choose from when traveling to any destination. Here’s a detailed guide of where we stayed in Vigan and [honest] review about it.
ROOMS & RATES (As of July 2016)
|Standard Rooms (GF)||1200|
|Standard Rooms (SF)||1300|
|Family Room (GF) 3pax||1800|
|Family Room (SF) 3pax||1800|

Pros: Affordable rates | Walking distance from Vigan Heritage Village | Free breakfast included | Towel and toiletries (soap & toothbrush set) included | Free Wi-Fi | Has swimming pool with spacious area (we got to do our BBQ night! 🙂) | Wide parking space
Cons: Broken Cable TV | Poor air-conditioning system | Lack of plug sockets (there’s only one in our room) | No other options for “Free Breakfast” (they serve a standard meal – Longsilog & coffee/hot choco) | We paid an additional P100 fee for a car wash service that we didn’t even request for 🙁
