Down to the last travel diary for FnJ Ilocos trip! It’s all about searching for breakfast stop back in Vigan before heading home. Café Leona was still closed when we got there and were told that stores usually open at 10AM. We walked down Calle Crisologo and had this brilliant idea to take a tricycle (P200 – back and forth with side trip to Longganisa factory) and let the driver be the foodie guide!
Hidden Garden was recommended by Kuya driver and Fhabs and I thought it’s just a plain botanical sanctuary.
But to our surprise, Lilong and Lilang Restaurant is nested inside. And what’s for breakfast? Vigan specialties!LONGSILOG (P150). Longganisa, sinangag, itlog – inclusive of coffee or hot choco.EMPANADA (P50). Ilocano style tacos with longganisa, papaya, egg, mango seasoned with herb.
I loved their version of Vigan longganisa and Fhabs pinned his attention to Vigan Empanada after finishing Longsilog. I had few bites of the empanada and it’s really different from the usual. Stuffed in mixed vegetables with ground longganisa, it tasted weird for me. Maybe, I just like the typical empanada (e.g. ham & cheese, chicken) very much so I think I’m not into other kind for now.Overall, we’re satisfied with the dining experience plus we took a nature walk around the garden. Thanks Kuya driver for bringing us to this lovely place! Stay tuned for Ilocos travel vlog! 😉
