The second day of FnJ anniversary trip was jam-packed as we traveled to Pagudpud and had few stops to some attractions. We left Vigan in the morning and assumed that by lunchtime we would reach Pagudpud but boy, we’re wrong. We quite underestimated the travel time and even we’re guided by Waze app, the endless road construction was unexpected.
The estimated three-hour trip (from Vigan to Pagudpud) added another two hours. We’re a bit desperate because the long drive seemed to take forever. But staring at Fhabs, still patient and relaxed despite the chaos, retained my composure. We reached Laoag City by lunchtime and took away McDo meals to fill up something on our tummy. After a whole bunch of chats & random laughs, we’re surprised that we finally reached our first target – KAPURPURAWAN ROCK FORMATION!Marveled by the beauty of gigantic windmills – endlessly rolling against the blue sky backdrop, we couldn’t believe we saw them up close! Windmills are used to convert energy in the wind through their sails or blades and yes, they create a weird sound. Haha! After paying an entrance fee (P15/head), we headed straight to Kapurpurawan spot. It’s quite a walk from the entrance, passing through a vine tunnel. The sun shone so bright which turned the limestone formations in full creamy white. The deep blue sea, dancing windmills, beautiful rock formations and us – I couldn’t ask for more.
