MT. SAMAT | Shrine of Valor

Mt. Samat Shrine of ValorToday,  Filipinos  commemorate “Araw ng Kagitingan” or the day of the soldiers who fought and died in historic bastion of freedom as well as remember the fall of Bataan during the World War II.

As a sign of their remarkable patriotism and heroic struggles and sacrifices, a huge shrine or commonly known as “Dambana ng Kagitingan” was erected near the summit of Mt. Samat where the bloody war took place. It has a measurement of 302 feet and elevation of 1, 787 feet.

Applying its significance at present, we do not have to fight with guns or swords and engage ourselves to a hideous war to be considered as a hero. In a simple way of boosting our nationalism, we become heroes of our own country.
